Regular Season Round 29: Saint Quentin - Boulazac 85-67

The biggest surprise took place in Saint-Quentin where host Saint-Quentin (21-8) beat league's leader Boulazac Basket (20-9) 85-67 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Boulazac Basket. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Saint-Quentin looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Spanish Javier Beiran (199-1987) who scored 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward William Pfister (202-1995, college: FAU) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Nicolas Moore (175-1992, college: SMU) produced 13 points and 5 rebounds and Bathiste Tchouaffe (196-1998) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Saint-Quentin keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Chalon/Saone. Boulazac Basket at the other side dropped to the third place with nine games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Saint Quentin. Boulazac Basket will play next round against Saint Vallier trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Saint-Quentin will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Denain Voltaire on the road.
