We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Poitiers (4-5) was defeated at home by seventh ranked STB Le Havre (4-5) 82-72 on Friday. The best player for the winners was Valentin Bigote (196-1992) who scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Fred Thomas (196-1993, college: MSU) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four STB Le Havre players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Ivorian center Bali Coulibaly (199-1995, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and Canadian-Nigerian guard Keith Omoerah (194-1992, college: Manitoba, agency: BIG) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Poitiers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. STB Le Havre moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Poitiers. STB Le Havre will meet at home higher ranked Union Rennes (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Poitiers will play against Orchesien BC in Orchies and hope to secure a win.
