The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Lourdes-Tarbes as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Lourdes-Tarbes defeated second-best Hyeres-Toulon at home 87-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hyeres-Toulon. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Point guard Remi Lesca (180-1990) stepped up and scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and naturalized Guyanese Mike Joseph (203-1994) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was Lithuanian point guard Mantvydas Staniulis (186-1997) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 assists and forward Oumarou Baradji (202-1989) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Five Lourdes-Tarbes and four Hyeres-Toulon players scored in double figures. Lourdes-Tarbes (5-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Pont-de-Cheruy. Newly promoted Hyeres-Toulon dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Berck. Hyeres-Toulon will play next round against CFBB trying to get back on the winning streak. Lourdes-Tarbes will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked SOPCC in Pont de Cheruy.
