Second Stage Round 9: Pole France - Pont-de-Cheruy 58-59

Eighth-ranked CFBB (0-6) gave a tough game to second ranked SOPCC (5-1) in Paris on Friday. The visitors from Pont de Cheruy managed to secure only one-point victory 59-58. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was forward Lucas Thevenard (202-1998) who scored 9 points and 4 assists. Forward Jacques Eyoum (195-2000) chipped in 13 points. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Nolan Traore (190-2006) who recorded 14 points and 4 assists and guard Noa Essengue (196-2006) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively. CFBB's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for SOPCC. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Tarbes-Lourdes. CFBB lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. SOPCC will meet at home league's leader Lourdes-Tarbes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. CFBB will play against Hyeres-Toulon (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
