There was an upset when higher ranked JDA Dijon (17-12) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked SIG Strasbourg (12-15) 93-75 on Saturday. SIG Strasbourg made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. SIG Strasbourg outrebounded JDA Dijon 40-18 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard Marcus Keene (178-1995, college: CMU) stepped up and scored 30 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international center Bodian Massa (205-1997) chipped in 10 points and 12 rebounds. Four SIG Strasbourg players scored in double figures. American forward Markis McDuffie (203-1997, college: Wichita St.) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import power forward Gavin Ware (206-1993, college: MSU) scored 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SIG Strasbourg moved-up to eleventh place. Loser JDA Dijon dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. SIG Strasbourg will meet league's leader Monaco on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. JDA Dijon will play against Sluc Nancy (#16) and hope to secure a win.
