Regular Season Round 27: Monfalcone - Padova Unione 72-66

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Padova Unione (13-14) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Monfalcone (13-14) 72-66 on Saturday. Monfalcone made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was center Devil Medizza (197-1990) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Naturalized Croatian swingman Armin Mazic (199-1993) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Monfalcone's coach Matteo Pratico used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Mirco Turel (195-1994) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and center Ivan Morgillo (206-1992, agency: Players Group) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Monfalcone have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Padova Unione. Monfalcone will meet league's leader Orzinuovi on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Padova Unione will play against the league's second-placed Mestre (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
