The biggest surprise of round 2 was guest Bnei Hasharon's road victory over Hapoel Beer Sheva 86-75 on Saturday evening. They outrebounded Hapoel Beer Sheva 40-22 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Hapoel Beer Sheva helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard Quinton Hooker (183-1995, college: N.Dakota) who scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import Maurice Kemp (203-1991, college: ECU) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. American-Nigerian guard David Efianayi (188-1995, college: Gardner-Webb) produced 14 points and 7 assists and American Greg Whittington (203-1993, college: Georgetown) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bnei Hasharon is looking forward to face Hapoel Haifa at home in the next round where they are favorite. Hapoel Beer Sheva will have a break next round.
