Regular Season Round 27: Valencia - Real Betis 87-81
Date: April 16, 2023
No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Valencia (14-13) won against at home 17th ranked Real Betis (6-21) 87-81 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin center Bojan Dubljevic (205-1991) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. American-Armenian guard Chris Jones (188-1993, college: Angelo St.) chipped in 11 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Dominican guard Jean Montero (188-2003) who recorded 20 points and American swingman BJ Johnson (201-1995, college: La Salle) added 12 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Valencia maintains eighth place with 14-13 record. Loser Real Betis keeps the seventeenth position with 21 games lost. Valencia will meet Murcia (#12) on the road in the next round. Real Betis will play against Fuenlabrada (#18) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
