There was no surprise when 13th ranked Matelica (7-19) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Imola (12-14) 76-68 on Sunday. Imola forced 22 Matelica turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Kevin Cusenza (200-1993) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Nunzio Corcelli (188-1991) chipped in 21 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Antonio Gallo (182-2000, agency: Players Group) who recorded 13 points and 6 rebounds and Matteo Caroli (192-1995, agency: Players Group) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Matelica's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Imola have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Fiorenzuola. Newly promoted Matelica keeps the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. Imola will meet San Miniato (#14) on the road in the next round. Matelica will play against Jesi and hope to secure a win.
