There was no surprise in Wloclawek where 14th ranked GTK (8-19) was outplayed by ninth ranked Anwil (15-12) 88-63 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was the former international Michal Nowakowski (202-1988) who scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. American Victor Sanders (196-1995, college: Idaho) chipped in 18 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Kamari Murphy (206-1993, college: Miami, FL) who recorded 6 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import Terrance Ferguson (198-1997) added 14 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Anwil. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Czarni. GTK lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Astoria and Start. Anwil will meet higher ranked Trefl (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. GTK will play against the league's second-placed Wilki Morskie (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
