Very important is a road loss of third ranked Stal (18-9) against tenth ranked Suzuki Arka (11-16) on Monday night. Visiting Stal was defeated by Suzuki Arka in Gdynia 92-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Stal. Suzuki Arka made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard James Florence (185-1988, college: Mercer) who scored 25 points. His fellow American import forward Trey Wade (198-1998, college: Arkansas) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Latvian guard Aigars Skele (193-1992) who recorded 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Mateusz Zebski (190-1992) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Five Suzuki Arka and four Stal players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Suzuki Arka. They maintain tenth place with 11-16 record. Loser Stal keeps the third position with nine games lost. They share it with Legia. Suzuki Arka will meet higher ranked Legia (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Stal will play against the league's leader WKS Slask where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
