Regular Season Round 30: St. Chamond - Vichy Clermont 100-91

There was an upset when higher ranked JA Vichy (16-14) lost on the road to fifteenth ranked Saint Chamond (12-18) 100-91 on Tuesday. Saint Chamond made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Nigerian-American forward Josh Ajayi (201-1996, college: USA, agency: Players Group) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Algerian forward Kamel Ammour (203-1991) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists. Five Saint Chamond players scored in double figures. Even 27 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) by forward Ivan Fevrier (204-1999) did not help to save the game for JA Vichy. American guard Tray Boyd III (193-1998, college: ETSU) added 21 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Saint Chamond moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Nantes and Denain-Voltaire. Loser JA Vichy keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Orleans. Saint Chamond will meet at home league's leader Saint-Quentin in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. JA Vichy will play against Aix-Maurienne (#16) and hope to secure a win.
