The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 44-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Sibiu outrebounded Voluntari 41-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Argentinian point guard Gaston Whelan (187-1994) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 assists. Latvian Roberts Blumbergs (208-1998, college: GCU) helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds. Five Sibiu players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Tekele Cotton (188-1993, college: Wichita St.) with 14 points and the other American import Toddrick Gotcher (192-1993, college: Texas Tech) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
