Regular Season Round 27: Tortona - Reggio Emilia 74-68

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Reggio Emilia (10-17) lost on the road to third ranked Tortona (18-9) 74-68 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Tyler Cain (204-1988, college: S.Dakota) who led the winners and scored 6 points and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Semaj Christon (190-1992, college: Xavier) accounted for 14 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Tortona's coach Marco Ramondino used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international guard Andrea Cinciarini (191-1986) came up with 8 points and 9 assists and Latvian Arturs Strautins (198-1998) added 11 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Reggio Emilia in the defeat. Tortona maintains third place with 18-9 record having just three points less than leader Virtus BO. Loser Reggio Emilia dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Trieste and Scafati. Tortona will meet Napoli (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Reggio Emilia will play against Brescia and hope to secure a win.
