Regular Season Round 21: Flammes - Angers 72-92

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Charleville where 6th ranked Flammes (9-12) was crushed by seventh ranked Angers (9-12) 92-72 on Wednesday. Angers dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Flammes' 40. American point guard Alexis Peterson (173-1995, college: Syracuse) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners and power forward Kekelly Elenga (184-1991) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Angers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American-Guyanese forward Brianna Fraser (190-1997, college: Maryland) with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian center Nikolina Milic (191-1994) scored 17 points. Angers moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Flammes. Angers will meet at home Roche (#8) in the next round. Flammes will play against Toulouse and hope to secure a win.
