Very expected game in Stargard where 11th ranked MKS DG (10-18) was defeated by sixth ranked Spojnia (17-11) 90-83 on Friday. Spojnia made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Karol Gruszecki (198-1989, college: UT Arlington) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds and American Jordan Mathews (191-1994, college: Gonzaga) who added 15 points and 4 assists during the contest. Spojnia's coach Sebastian Machowski used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American guard Joe Chealey (193-1995, college: Charleston) responded with 23 points and 6 assists and Guinean-American power forward Ousmane Drame (206-1993, college: Quinnipiac) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Spojnia moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Trefl. Loser MKS DG keeps the eleventh position with 18 games lost. They share it with Sokol. Spojnia will meet Sokol (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MKS DG will play against Start in Lublin and hope to secure a win.
