Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Alicante (18-12) won against at home 13th ranked Oviedo (9-21) 78-69 on Friday. Icelandic point guard Aegir Steinarsson (185-1991, college: Newberry) scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Eduard Gatell (206-1989) chipped in 8 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Romeo Crouch (193, college: Embry Riddle) with 10 points and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Clevon Brown (203-1998, college: FIU) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Alicante moved-up to eighth place. Loser Oviedo dropped to the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. They share it with Caceres. Alicante will meet Ourense (#13) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Oviedo will play against the league's second-placed Andorra where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
