Regular Season Round 30: Burgos - Ourense 96-49

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Ourense (10-20) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked Burgos (19-11) 96-49 on Saturday. Burgos held Ourense to an opponent 24.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 59.4 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Ourense 50-22 including a 42-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Burgos shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Ourense's players. Swingman Alex Barrera (195-1992, agency: BIG) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian forward Gonzalo Corbalan (193-2002, college: LCU) chipped in 13 points during the contest. Four Burgos players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Bosnian Fahrudin Manjgafic (207-1997) with 21 points and 5 rebounds and South Sudanese-American power forward Kur Kuath (208-1998, college: Marquette) scored 3 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Burgos have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Ourense lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 20 games lost. They share it with Almansa. Burgos will meet Iraurgi SB (#16) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Ourense will play against Alicante (#8) and hope to secure a win.
