There was an upset when higher ranked Obradoiro (12-17) lost to seventeenth ranked Real Betis (8-21) in Santiago de Compostela 67-82 on Sunday. Real Betis made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. The former international Tyson Perez (202-1996) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and Latvian guard Dairis Bertans (193-1989) accounted for 17 points. Four Real Betis players scored in double figures. British-Canadian Thomas Scrubb (199-1991, college: Carleton, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 22 points and 6 rebounds and French guard Leo Westermann (198-1992) added 14 points respectively for Obradoiro in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Betis moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Granada. Obradoiro lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 17 games lost. They share it with Murcia. Real Betis will meet at home league's leader Barca in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Obradoiro will play against Valencia (#8) and hope to secure a win.
