Regular Season Round 28: Trefl - Anwil 73-81

There was a surprise result in Sopot where ninth ranked Anwil (16-12) defeated higher ranked Trefl (17-11) 81-73 on Sunday. They outrebounded Trefl 40-27 including a 14-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Malik Williams (211-1998, college: Louisville) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import guard Phil Greene IV (187-1992, college: St.John's, agency: Slash Sports) who added 21 points during the contest. Four Anwil players scored in double figures. Anwil's coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Serbian point guard Strahinja Jovanovic (185-1996) responded with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and the former international Jaroslaw Zyskowski (203-1992) scored 18 points. Anwil have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Zastal and Czarni. Trefl lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Spojnia. Anwil will meet at home Suzuki Arka (#10) in the next round. Trefl will play against the league's second-placed Wilki Morskie (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
