Second Stage Round 3: Bnei Hertzeliya - H.Haifa 95-72
Date: April 23, 2023
Rather expected game when Hapoel Haifa (7-18) was smashed by Bnei Hasharon (13-12) in Hod Hasharon 95-72 on Sunday. Bnei Hasharon shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American Maurice Kemp (203-1991, college: ECU) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import Chris Babb (196-1990, college: Iowa St.) accounted for 14 points for the winning side. Four Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. American forward Justin Tillman (203-1996, college: VCU) came up with 28 points and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Amit Simhon (198-1989, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Hapoel Haifa in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bnei Hasharon will meet Hapoel Eilat (#10) on the road in the next round. Hapoel Haifa will play against E.Kiryat Ata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
