Very expected game when 14th ranked Bergamo (10-19) was rolled over on the road by fourth ranked Desio (18-11) 90-68 on Saturday. Desio dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Bergamo's 26. They outrebounded Bergamo 43-26 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Desio looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Bergamo's players. Point guard Mattia Molteni (191-1996) stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and power forward Giacomo Maspero (204-1992) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Desio players scored in double figures. Swiss guard Nicolo Isotta (184-2003) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Guglielmo Sodero (191-1993) scored 24 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Desio have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 18-11 record, which they share with Cassino. Loser Bergamo dropped to the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Borgomanero. Desio will meet league's leader Orzinuovi on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bergamo will play against Crema (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
