Another exciting game for Mantova (6-5) which played in Casale against 3rd placed Monferrato (5-6). Fourth ranked Mantova won 102-98. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Mantova made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Monferrato was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Keshun Sherrill (175-1994, college: Augusta) stepped up and scored 41 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and his fellow American import forward LaQuinton Ross (203-1992, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Kodi Justice (199-1995, college: Arizona St.) responded with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward Niccolo Martinoni (203-1989) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Five Monferrato players scored in double figures. Monferrato's coach Andrea Valentini rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mantova moved-up to second place, which they share with RO SAzzurra and Juvi Cremona. Monferrato at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with San Severo and Rieti Kienergia. Mantova will play against RO SAzzurra (#4) in Roma in the next round. Monferrato will play on the road against Ravenna and hopes to get back on the winning track.
