Regular Season Round 28: Valsequillo - Guimar 71-90

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Guimar and 10th ranked Valsequillo had identical 11-14 record. But Valsequillo was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from Guimar 90-71 on Saturday night. Guimar made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Valsequillo turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Joaquin Portugues (185-1995) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 8 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and power forward Jorge Parrondo (194-2000) who added 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Guimar players scored in double figures. At the losing side David Cabrera responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and forward Paulo Rodriguez (201-2000) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guimar (12-14) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 6 other teams. Newly promoted Valsequillo dropped to the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with 6 other teams.
