Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked Albacete (7-24) lost on the road to third ranked Coruna (22-9) 92-75 on Monday. Coruna dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Albacete's 22 and made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Albacete 44-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. Coruna looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American-Cuban swingman Yunio Barrueta (196-1993, college: Barry, agency: BIG) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Nigerian-American power forward Lotanna Nwogbo (205-1993, college: Longwood) accounted for 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Coruna players scored in double figures. Coruna's coach Diego Epifanio used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Point guard Guillem Ferrando (186-2002) came up with 22 points and 4 assists and Ukrainian Andriy Grytsak (198-2000) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Albacete in the defeat. Coruna have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 22-9 record having six points less than leader Andorra. Newly promoted Albacete keeps the seventeenth position with 24 games lost. Coruna will meet Caceres (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Albacete will play against Melilla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
