There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Gravelines (12-20) won against at home 11th ranked Monaco (13-19) 88-74 on Friday. The winners were led by guard Willan Hairabetian (189-2003) who scored that evening 20 points and 5 rebounds and center Jared Ambrose (204-2002) supported him with 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by Iranian guard Mohammad Amini (202-2005, agency: BIG) did not help to save the game for Monaco. Ambroise Couture (199-2002) added 10 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Four Monaco players scored in double figures. Gravelines maintains fourteenth position with 12-20 record. Loser Monaco keeps the eleventh place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Fos-Provence. Gravelines will meet Dijon (#15) on the road in the next round. Monaco will play against Le Mans (#16) and hope to secure a win.
