There was an upset when 4th placed Lille Metropole (20-13) was edged on the road by eleventh ranked Etoile Angers (16-17) 93-91 on Friday. Etoile Angers shot 60.4 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Etoile Angers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. American forward Michael Akuchie (203-1998, college: YSU, agency: Inception Sports) nailed 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Raijon Kelly (193-1993, college: Angelo St.) accounted for 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Center Bastien Vautier (210-1998) came up with 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) and Spanish guard Marcos Suka-Umu (193-1985) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for Lille Metropole in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Lille Metropole's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Etoile Angers moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Evreux. Loser Lille Metropole dropped to the fifth position with 13 games lost. Etoile Angers will meet league's leader Saint-Quentin on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lille Metropole will play against Boulazac Basket (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
