Regular Season Round 30: Venezia - Treviso 107-73
Date: May 7, 2023
Very predictable result when sixth ranked Venezia (17-13) rolled over at home 11th ranked Treviso (12-18) 107-73 on Sunday. Venezia dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Treviso's 34. They outrebounded Treviso 40-24 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Venezia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American center Mitchell Watt (208-1989, college: Buffalo, agency: Octagon Europe) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and international point guard Marco Spissu (184-1995) supported him with 16 points. Four Venezia players scored in double figures. Even 17 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) by point guard Alessandro Zanelli (188-1992, agency: Players Group) did not help to save the game for Treviso. Nigerian point guard Ike Iroegbu (188-1995, college: WSU) added 17 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Venezia moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Varese and Sassari. Loser Treviso keeps the eleventh position with 18 games lost. They share it with Scafati and Napoli.
