No shocking result in a game in San Sebastian where ninth ranked Gipuzkoa (18-14) edged 15th ranked Oviedo (9-23) 64-63 on Sunday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was guard Aitor Zubizarreta (191-1995, college: Idaho Coll.) who scored 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Justin Jaworski (190-1999, college: Lafayette) chipped in 18 points (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). American forward Clevon Brown (203-1998, college: FIU) produced 7 points and 12 rebounds and Marc Marti (204-1997) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Oviedo's coach Tryfon Poch rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gipuzkoa moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Alicante. Oviedo lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 23 games lost. Gipuzkoa will meet Alicante (#9) on the road in the next round. Oviedo will play against Castello (#10) and hope to secure a win.
