Regular Season Round 1: Muenster 2 - Loewen 96-82

There was no surprise when Loewen was defeated on the road by Muenster 2 96-82 on Saturday. Muenster 2 made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Center Lukas Ehrich (204-2004) stepped up and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Andrej Koenig (195-1987) chipped in 27 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Muenster 2 players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Jamal Wright (179-1997, college: High Point) responded with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard David Ewald (185-1999) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Muenster 2 will meet Salzkotten on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Loewen will play against ETB Miners and hope to win that game.
