Avenida smashed Gran Canaria in Salamanca 72-52. Avenida made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Gran Canaria turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Greek forward Maria Fasoula (196-1997, college: Vanderbilt) stepped up and scored 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and French-American point guard Bria Hartley (173-1992, college: UConn) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. At the losing side Senegalese forward Sokhna Fall (185-2003, college: Casper CC) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian forward Katarina Knezevic (183-2005) scored 7 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gran Canaria will play next round against Valencia trying to get back on the winning streak.
