Regular Season Round 4: Le Mans - Le Portel 90-60

Le Mans can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Le Portel (0-4) 90-60. Le Mans dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Le Portel's 36. Le Mans forced 23 Le Portel turnovers and outrebounded them 48-27 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Le Portel's players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Raphael Djasrambaye (205-2003) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Power forward David Simonovic (206-2005) contributed with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Le Mans players scored in double figures. Belgian guard Younes Boukichou (190-2004) replied with 14 points and swingman Louis Le Carrer (198-2004) added 4 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Le Portel. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Le Mans (1-3) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams. It was Le Portel's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Chalon/Saone. Le Mans will play against higher ranked Nanterre (#6) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Le Portel will play against Chalon/Saone (#17) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
