Regular Season Round 2: Landes - Roche 89-52

There was a minor upset in Mont de Marsan where Roche was rolled over by Landes 89-52 on Saturday. Landes dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Roche's 34. Landes forced 22 Roche turnovers and outrebounded them 44-25 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international power forward Kendra Chery (187-2001) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Samantha Fuehring (191, college: Louisville) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Landes players scored in double figures. Coach Julie Barennes's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American-Jamaican forward Tiffany Clarke (183-1991, college: Vanderbilt) responded with 8 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Assitan Kone (190-1995) scored 8 points and 4 assists. Landes will meet Angers on the road in the next round. Roche will play against Bretagne and hope to win that game.
