There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Saint-Quentin (2-2) outplayed at home 4th placed ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (3-2) 91-71 on Tuesday. Saint-Quentin looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American point guard Nate Johnson (193-1998, college: Xavier) nailed 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import point guard Tyger Campbell (180-2000, college: UCLA) accounted for 14 points and 8 assists. The former international center Joffrey Lauvergne (211-1991) came up with 12 points and Senegalese Mbaye NDiaye (203-1999) added 14 points respectively for ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Saint-Quentin moved-up to tenth place. Loser ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with Limoges and Chalon/Saone. Saint-Quentin will meet at home higher ranked Chalon/Saor (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket will play against Sluc Nancy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
