Snaefell used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Akureyri 93-90 on Friday night. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 24-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Snaefell made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. American guard Jaeden King (198, college: St.Xavier) nailed a double-double by scoring 46 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds for the winning side and American-Hungarian forward Sam Burt (201-1994, college: FPU) accounted for 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Burt is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Harrison Butler (196, college: SUU) came up with 31 points and 7 rebounds and Hungarian-American power forward Jason Gigliotti (203-1999, college: UM-Dearborn) added 17 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Thor AK in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Thor AK's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Snaefell will meet at home Fjolnir in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Thor AK will play against KR and hope to win that game.
