An interesting game was played in Thorlakshofn where Valur beat host Thor Thorl with 15-point difference 96-81 on Friday evening. Valur looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Josh Jefferson (188-1998, college: MTSU) stepped up and scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international forward Kristofer Acox (198-1993, college: Furman) chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side American point guard Darwin Davis (178-1993, college: Xavier) responded with 26 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and American-German forward Nigel Pruitt (201-1994, college: KSU) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Valur will meet at home Hamar in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Thor Thorl will play against Stjarnan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
