Regular Season Round 1: Hamar - KR 92-97

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Hamar at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by KR 97-92. KR forced 20 Hamar turnovers. American Michaela Porter (182-1999, college: App State) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds for the winners and guard Lea Gunnarsdottir (174-2003) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. Four KR players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Aniya Thomas (170-2000, college: Missouri St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals and forward Emma Hakonardottir (180-2005) scored 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. KR is looking forward to face Tindastoll in Sauoarkrokur in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hamar will play at home against IR and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
