There was a surprise result when Vila-Real beat Puerto Sagunto in Vila-real 67-58 on Saturday. Vila-Real dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Puerto Sagunto's 18. Guard Javier Le Berre (189-1993) notched 17 points to lead the effort and center Miguel Moragas (203-1994) supported him with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Even 13 points by American-Swedish guard Eddie Czerapowicz (185-2000) did not help to save the game for Puerto Sagunto. Argentinian-Italian guard Geronimo Volpato (189-1998) added 8 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vila-Real will meet El Pilar in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Puerto Sagunto will play against Sueca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
