Regular Season Round 6: ASVEL - Nancy 91-71

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Nancy (4-1) in Villeurbanne on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by ASVEL (6-0) 91-71. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Nancy. ASVEL looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Adam Atamna (190-2007) scored 31 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Mervyn Muamba (197-2005) chipped in 18 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. ASVEL's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was swingman Guillaume Grotzinger (195-2004) with 23 points and 9 assists and Cameroonian Yves Mballa (199-2003) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Five ASVEL and four Nancy players scored in double figures. ASVEL have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Nancy at the other side dropped to the fourth place with one game lost. ASVEL are looking forward to face Nanterre (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Nancy will play against Levallois and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
