Le Portel has finally registered their first victory this season after five consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Chorale de Roanne (2-4) 91-76 on Saturday. Le Portel had a 29-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward David DiLeo (201-1997, college: CMU) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import guard Phlandrous Fleming Jr (193-1998, college: Florida) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jordan Tucker (201-1998, college: Butler) who recorded 21 points and 5 rebounds and Guyanese center Cyril Langevine (203-1998, college: URI) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Le Portel (1-5) left bottom position moving up to sixteenth place. Loser Chorale de Roanne keeps the twelfth position with four games lost. They share it with Dijon and Blois. Le Portel will meet higher ranked Paris Basket (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Chorale de Roanne will play against SIG Strasbourg (#15) and hope to secure a win.
