Regular Season Round 2: Forli - Nardo 99-70
Date: October 8, 2023
Everything went according to plan when Forli outplayed at home Nardo 99-70 on Sunday. They outrebounded Nardo 45-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. Forli looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American point guard Xavier Johnson (173-1993, college: Point, GA) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Federico Zampini (191-1999, agency: Players Group) supported him with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Johnson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Forli players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 6 rebounds by American point guard Russ Smith (183-1991, college: Louisville) did not help to save the game for Nardo. The former international power forward Antonio Iannuzzi (208-1991) added 18 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
