Regular Season Round 1: Kvarner - Samobor 91-70

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Samobor in Rijeka on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Kvarner 91-70. Strangely Samobor outrebounded Kvarner 42-25 including a 17-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Paolo Marinelli (191-1995, agency: AltusBasket) fired 28 points and 5 steals for the winners. Guard Sime Lisica (190-1998) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. Four Kvarner players scored in double figures. The former international Krunoslav Simon (197-1985, agency: AltusBasket) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Fran Jacovic (199-1999) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kvarner is looking forward to face Podstrana at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Samobor will play against Hermes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
