Very expected game in Tychy where bottom-ranked Sokol (0-4) was defeated by ninth ranked GKS (3-1) 99-94 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. GKS dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Sokol's 32 and made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Swingman Maciej Koperski (190-1999) fired 27 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Swingman Karol Kaminski (195-1997) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. GKS's coach Tomasz Jagielka allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Mikolaj Smarzy (199) produced 24 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and American center Nic Lynch (211, college: San Diego) added 26 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five GKS and four Sokol players scored in double figures. GKS moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Sokol still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Polonia W-wa and Krakow. GKS will meet Decka (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sokol will play against Miast Szkla (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
