But Samobor was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Zagreb 84-75 on Thursday night. Hermes forced 23 Samobor turnovers. Swingman Josip Skara (193-1994) notched 23 points, 7 assists and 6 steals to lead the effort and Filip Kordic (196-1992) supported him with 19 points. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by forward David Usic (205-1993, college: Florida Tech) did not help to save the game for Samobor. Forward Fran Jacovic (199-1999) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Four Samobor players scored in double figures. Samobor's coach Gjuro Simon rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Hermes will meet at home Mladost in the next round. Samobor will play against Podstrana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
