Regular Season Round 4: Honka - Pyrinto 70-57

There was no surprise in Espoo where 6th ranked Tampereen Pyrinto (1-2) was defeated by third ranked Tapiolan Honka (3-1) 70-57 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Tapiolan Honka. Tampereen Pyrinto managed to win second period 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Tayanna Jones (185-2000, college: Colorado) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Cierra Walker (173-1998, college: Gonzaga) who added 17 points, 8 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Tapiolan Honka's coach Niko Nyholm used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Kayla Shaw (178-1997, college: Azusa Pacific) responded with 17 points and 5 assists and Samoan forward Geralynn Leaupepe (180-1996) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Tapiolan Honka moved-up to second place. Loser Tampereen Pyrinto dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with Espoo Team. Tapiolan Honka will meet at home Marsky Helsinki (#4) in the next round. Tampereen Pyrinto will play against Kouvottaret and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
