Regular Season Round 5: UR Krakow - Resovia 63-106

There was a surprise result when seventh ranked Resovia (3-1) outscored on the road 3rd placed UR Krakow (3-2) 106-63 on Saturday. They outrebounded UR Krakow 47-29 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Resovia shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 55.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by UR Krakow's players. The best player for the winners was the former international Michal Gabinski (202-1987) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Adrian Warszawski (201-1996) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Five Resovia players scored in double figures. Point guard Radoslaw Chorab (190-2000) produced 17 points and 5 assists and power forward Milosz Ziolkowski (202-2003) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Resovia moved-up to third place, which they share with Tur Bielsk Pdl. and Bytom. Loser UR Krakow dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with 8 other teams. Resovia will meet Przemysl II (#7) on the road in the next round. UR Krakow's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Krakow Krakow Oknoplast.
