Regular Season Round 3: Venezia - Cremona 79-76

No shocking result in a game when Venezia (3-0) edged at home Cremona (1-2) 79-76 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Venezia outrebounded Cremona 36-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for forward Aamir Simms (203-1999, college: Clemson) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Guard Rayjon Tucker (191-1997, college: UALR) accounted for 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Point guard Marcus Zegarowski (187-1998, college: Creighton) came up with 21 points and forward Grant Golden (208-1998, college: Richmond) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for Cremona in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Venezia will meet Treviso (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cremona will play against Reggio Emilia (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
