Regular Season Round 5: Olimpia - BDU Tsmoki 99-40

An interesting game for Olimpia (4-0) which hosted in Grodno 4th placed BDU Tsmoki (2-1). Leader Olimpia had an easy win 99-40. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BDU Tsmoki. Olimpia dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to BDU Tsmoki's 26. Olimpia forced 33 BDU Tsmoki turnovers and outrebounded them 45-21 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by BDU Tsmoki's players. The former international power forward Hanna Lapo (189-1997) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and forward Nadzeya Nadzezhka (183-1987) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures. Guard Elizaveta Prishepova (155-2005) responded with 10 points and point guard Ekaterina Grek (169-2003) scored 5 points and 5 rebounds. BDU Tsmoki's coach Volha Padabed gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Olimpia have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with BC Minsk. BDU Tsmoki at the other side dropped to the fifth place with one game lost. Olimpia will play against Gomel (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. BDU Tsmoki's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk Gorizont.
