Regular Season Round 3: Benidorm - Carolinas 90-65

There was no surprise when Carolinas (1-2) was outplayed on the road by Benidorm (2-0) 90-65 on Sunday. Benidorm dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Carolinas' 30. They outrebounded Carolinas 49-26 including a 18-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Benidorm looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Joan Ortola (194-1992) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. American-British center Kaj-Bjorn Sherman (213-1992, college: UTSA, agency: Helping Ballers) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Benidorm players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Beninese forward Nathan Cledjo (198-2000) who recorded 12 points and 6 rebounds and forward Mario Mariscal (195-2000) added 16 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Benidorm will meet Elche (#4) on the road in the next round. Carolinas will play against Murcia 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
