No shocking result in a game when second ranked Desio (3-1) beat at home 15th ranked Rieti Kienergia (1-3) 73-69 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The winners were led by swingman Guglielmo Sodero (191-1993) who scored that evening 26 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Giacomo Maspero (204-1992) supported him with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by naturalized Serbian Nikola Markovic (197-2000) did not help to save the game for Rieti Kienergia. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Tomas Cavallero (198-1998) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Desio keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 8 other teams. Rieti Kienergia lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with three games lost. They share the position with 7 other teams. Desio will meet Legnano (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Rieti Kienergia will play against Avellino (#5) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the Serie A2 just one year after relegation.
